JOB SUMMARY


This is a 50/50 job role, with 50% of the time acting as a clinical Band 7 Team leader within the PED acting as shift lead, line manager and Nursing at a Band 7 level and 50% Practice Development Nurse to support staff and help the department grow and flourish from an educational stand point.

This is a newly created role within the PED to help the already established PDN team within paedatrics at Croydon

The post holder will be responsible for the effective and efficient operational and professional

Management of the department/ward; including budget control,governance, workforce and overseeing the delivery of care in line with our values

As a key member of a multi professional team, ensure appropriate referral, discussions and decisions with other members of the team to optimise patient care and improve patient outcomes and experience


Ensure patients are assessed, have care plans that are implemented and evaluated in accordance with Trust's evidence based procedural documents.

Deliver the Fundamentals of care

Act as a clinical expert within sphere of work.


Have continuous responsibility for the ward area, providing visible professional leadership and line management for a team of nursing, care and support staff.
