We are currently seeking an inspirational and motivational Behaviour Support Assistant with the drive, commitment and creativity to support us in providing the best possible opportunities for our pupils.

Hall Green School is a very popular, heavily oversubscribed and academically successful 11-16 Converter Academy.

We are a highly diverse institution, both ethnically and as a fully accessible mainstream school, attracting pupils from across the city with physical disabilities.

We have wonderful students who fully contribute to the school's 'caring, nurturing and inclusive culture' described by Ofsted as 'a welcoming and inclusive school' where 'pupils are happy, and they achieve well' and the 'positive relationships between pupils and staff are a hallmark of the school'.

This is a full-time, term-time, post.

You will be working 36.5 hours per week, these hours will need to be worked flexibly depending on the schools need and could change at short notice; hours exclude a 30-minute lunch.

- to work with the school's pastoral team - the Assistant Headteacher, the Heads of House, the Welfare and Inclusion Manager and the Support Base Manager - to promote the positive behaviour of pupils and ensure that the behaviour and pastoral related policies are carried out
- carry out supervision duties as part of the pastoral rota before and after school and at break and lunchtimes to help manage the behaviour of pupils during unstructured time and deal with inappropriate behaviour according to school policy
- undertake investigations into reported incidents of poor behaviour or bullying following the school guidelines, including taking witness statements, and implement sanctions according to school policy
- provide support in the management of school detentions


This post is covered by Part 7 of the Immigration Act and therefore the ability to speak and write fluently in English is an essential requirement for this role.
