Housekeeper - Residential Unit

About Dementia Matters:


We are a small established Charity based in Newcastle and for over 25 years we have provided care and support to those living with dementia.

Our services include residential, day care and home support.

Alongside our wonderful team of staff, we have a growing team of volunteers and carers who have entrusted us with their loved ones to provide the very best we can.


Day Services
We currently operate two day services.

Our Newcastle Day Service is at The Bradbury Centre, Brunswick Village, and our Northumberland Day Service is based in Cramlington.

Both services operate Monday to Friday 9-5.


Home Support


We provide an all-inclusive Home Support service providing anything from a 1 hour call up to bespoke 24-hour packages of care.


Residential
We run an 10 bedded service that offers both respite and residential care based at The Bradbury Centre, Brunswick. We currently have exciting plans for expansion.


Job Details:

We currently have a part time Housekeeper vacancy within our Residential Service at Dementia Matters.

The hours will be 25 hours Monday to Friday, between the hours of 10 & or Bank Holiday working will be required and this will be paid at time and a half.

Duties

  • To follow the cleaning rota
  • To maintain a spotless Residential & Respite unit.
  • To keep the kitchen area clean and tidy, including the fridges, waste and recycling areas.
  • To carry out the washing and drying of the residents laundry.
  • To ensure all communal spaces are tidy, hygienic and presentable.
  • To clean service users bedrooms using the equipment provided.
  • To prepare a buffet lunch and the vegetables for the evening meal.
  • Ensure that the filters are cleaned in the washer and dryers.
  • To keep the floors clean inc. hoovering, mopping and using the carpet cleaner.
  • To keep the linen cupboard organised and tidy
  • To clean the entry way stairs.
  • Carry out stock checks for the cleaning supplies.
  • Deep clean the unit when required
  • To carry out legionella testing and flushing
  • To proactively identify and report any maintenance and repair issues, ensuring our service areas always operate at an optimum level.
  • Keep all areas clear and ensure any potential hazards are dealt with quickly and efficiently.
  • Any other adhoc duties necessary for the role.
