Environmental Health Officer - Food Safety/ Food Safety Enforcement Officer (Temporary)

Southwark

Rate:
£32 per hour Umbrella

3 Month Contract

Job Purpose

To contribute to achieving the organization's objectives by providing comprehensive Food Safety services, ensuring compliance with legislation, service standards, and policies.

This temporary role aims to cover current sickness absence in the Food Safety Team and provide short-term additional resources to meet inspection targets.

Main Activities

Experience

At least 2 years recent work as an Environmental Health Officer in the field of food safety within local authority Environmental Health departments (Essential)

Qualifications

Degree or diploma in Environmental Health, accredited by the Chartered Institute of Environmental Health (Essential)
A recognized food safety qualification will be considered (Desirable)
Possess EHRB registration (Essential)

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

Written and verbal skills/abilities to achieve desired outcomes with a variety of target groups (business proprietors, managers, supervisors, employees, the public) (Essential)
Extensive understanding of technical and legal aspects of food safety (Essential)
Ability to prioritize and deliver a busy and varied workload of both planned and reactive work in accordance with an established performance framework (Essential)
Competency in the use of MS Office suite (Essential)
Use of Civica APP (Flare) software, in relation to Environmental Health (Desirable)

Selfmotivated, wellorganized, and capable of working under mínimal supervision (Essential)
Demonstrate the ability to play a supportive and effective part in Team activities (Essential)
