Cranleigh STEM is looking for a field service technician to join an innovative sustainability and clean energy business.

This role will be field based with scheduled visits to our client's site in Surrey for training.


As a field service technician, you will travel to events and clients across the UK to deploy and operate the company's hydrogen fuel cells and upstream systems.


Key Responsibilities:


  • Deploying, operating, monitoring, and integrating Hydrogen Fuel Cell Systems, Crackers, Reformers, Electrolysers, Battery Storage systems etc.
  • Overseeing/assisting with loading/unloading of hardware, tools & equipment.
  • Completing itineraries and managing stock.
  • Pipework installation and pressure testing.
  • Managing gas supplies.
  • Analysis and recording of operational data.
  • Fault finding and carrying out maintenance.
  • Systems testing and commissioning.
  • Installing power and data cabling.
  • Communicating data.

Requirements:


  • Demonstratable experience with similar equipment or transferable skills.
  • Willing and able to travel within the UK and eventually Europe.
  • Hold a full UK Driving license.
  • Hold a CSCS Card or be able to obtain one.
  • Electrical or Mechanical background.
  • Safety conscious and focussed.
  • Handson engineering approach
  • Faultfinding skills and experience.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

The following skill sets would be advantageous:

  • Experience with High-Pressure Gases (esp. Hydrogen)
  • training would be given.
  • Experience with Hydrogen Fuel Cells, Crackers, Reformers or Electrolysers.
  • Experience with Battery storage or other Renewable Energy Systems.
  • Previous experience in commissioning.
  • Electrical / automation/control system experience.
  • Experience working under standards such as COSHH, ATEX, DSEAR.
  • Mechanical or Electrical background.
  • Experience reading and working from circuit diagrams.
  • Data and analytical experience.
