We are looking for a Security Officer to work from our office in Bath, United Kingdom.


You will be responsible to the Management Team and RHEATECH board for the strategic development of an effective personnel and facilities security culture within the UK business and the day-to-day management and delivery of personnel security policy, procedures, risk assessment, management and general security processes, including review and sign-off on security architectures.


You will also be responsible for implementing the National Security Vetting aftercare within the Company and any subordinate organisations that the company provides sponsorship for.


Tasks and Activities:


The scope of work will include:

  • Act as Personnel Security Controller and Facilities Security Controller and Manager.
  • Personnel Security Controller: ensure that all aftercare activities are managed and undertaken promptly and effectively, liaising with HR, management, and organisations within the company as necessary.
  • Facilities Security Controller and Manager: ensure that all facilities, including the secure facilities meet and maintain the requirements of the UK Authority. Facilities management includes the daytoday inspection of the facilities, working with the RHEATECH Management team, the building management team, and services subcontractors.
  • Ensure RHEATECH Ltd FSC (facilities) implementation compliance with the Facility Security Clearance (FSC) Policy and Guidance for UK Defence Contractors and MOD Contracting Authorities.
  • Manage the PSCs (clearances) in the RHEATECH Ltd entity, including the mandatory yearly security briefing. He/she shall keep the signed records of the individual briefings.

Skills and Experience:


The following skills and experience are mandatory:

  • Effective oral and written communication with the ability to influence stakeholders at various levels, including Management, Board, and Senior internal and external stakeholders.
  • Proficient in presenting both technical and nontechnical security information, concepts, and intelligence to diverse audiences.
  • Demonstrated willingness to challenge existing assumptions and advocate for innovative approaches, moving beyond 'business as usual'.
  • Proactively fosters collaboration among stakeholders to achieve common goals.
  • Strong project management, planning, and monitoring skills, ensuring timely delivery and adherence to quality standards.
  • Maintains uptodate knowledge of security technologies and trends, utilizing them to drive personal and business development initiatives.
  • Eligibility for a British National Security Clearance.
