Description

Embedded Systems Engineer required for a material testing manufacturer based in Hook. You will be responsible for developing robust and highly maintainable code running in advanced geotechnical testing machines. You will be an integral part in the end-to-enddevelopment and testing of firmware and embedded software.

Your role will focus on writing code for microcontrollers that handle data acquisition and processing, actuator control and communication protocols.

Embedded Systems EngineerPosition Overview

Develop and maintain C / C++ code running on bespoke electronics
Integrate code into new and existing electromechanical systems
Be an active member of a high skilled multidisciplinary development team
Be actively involved in the complete development cycle, from design to testing, debugging and support

Integrate with existing team processes on planning, version control and documentation

Embedded Systems EngineerPosition Requirements

Degree in electronics, computer science or engineering
Significant programming experience in C or C++
Experience working on embedded firmware development (microcontrollers)
Experience in working in realtime systems (ideally motion control)

Desirable but not essential:

Experience with bare metal and/or RTOS environments
Experience with Microchip dsPIC or STM32 microcontrollers
Experience in troubleshooting embedded systems and microcontroller peripherals
Experience with electromechanical control systems
Experience in interfaces and hardware subsystems
Knowledge and understanding of electronics
Knowledge of Assembler
Knowledge of C# and WPF
Knowledge of software development tools and procedures (GIT, version control)

Embedded Systems EngineerPosition Remuneration
Salary dependent on experience Circa £65k

We provide free lunch, sandwiches, baguettes, salads, hot food
20 days holiday per year, + 8 bank holidays. additional 1 day for every calendar year up to 2 Non contractual bonus (1 months' salary)
Xmas time we close down, (3 days of holiday)
Working hours are a 40 hr week
