A key role for the Pharmacy & Medicines Procurement Category Lead, will be to support the NHS LPP Chief Pharmacist/Clinical Director for Medicines Optimisation and Pharmacy Procurement to help drive the key initiatives around medicines and pharmacy procurement services offered by the NHS LPP to the NHS.

The role will also be about supporting the Chief Pharmacist/Clinical Director to ensure that robust processes and systems are in place for frameworks and tenders which are aligned to national procurement regulations.


As part of the role, you will be expected to provide outputs to the NHS LPP, ICSs and NHS Trust Chief Pharmacists and Senior Managers to ensure that pan - London work programmes for pharmacy and medicines procurement are aligned with the needs of our stakeholders.

You will lead on the development and implementation of NHS LPP recommendations and advice for medicines and pharmacy procurement.


Through the provision and interpretation of prescribing data and other data sources, you will support NHS staff to identify lost opportunities in prescribing by supporting the use of NHS LPP pharmacy and medicines frameworks where appropriate.

You will support the delivery of the programme for pharmacy and medicines procurement across London by providing the necessary expertise to help improve the quality of prescribing and to achieve savings and efficiency where appropriate.

You will have experience of working as a professional within pharmacy and medicines procurement.

You will be expected to demonstrate innovation and extend the boundaries of the profession.

You will have a proven track record of project initiation and management, and will be involved in various projects that the NHS LPP delivers.
