Description

We have an exciting opportunity for a Band 7 Clinical Lead who will have a predominant focus in the Service's First Episode Psychosis pathways.

You will work alongside the Team Manager to provide a high quality Early Intervention Service across Stoke on Trent and North Staffordshire.

You will provide clinical leadership also providing management support, and deputising for the Team Manager in their absence.

The post holder will be expected to work autonomously within a multi-disciplinary framework, providing training and staff development, clinical supervision and caseload management.

There may also be requirement for specialist assessment, clinical support and time limited interventions to service users/families.

The post holder will act as a source of expertise and point of contact within the team and demonstrate highly specialised communication skills and problem solving abilities when prioritising risk.

The Clinical Lead will have a leadership focus on quality and governance at team level and ensure high service standards are maintained.


The quality and governance functions of this role will include monitoring and management of performance and clinical standards, including clinical audit with a strong focus on quality improvement and leading and facilitating change.

Also planning and implementing actions to support in relation to CQC monitoring and reviews.

  • Act as a positive role model for the discipline through the demonstration of strong leadership skills
  • Provide support and advice in the clinical area to optimise quality improvement opportunities. This may involve working alongside individual practitioners in the clinical area, in particular where practitioners are experiencing difficulties or are unable to achieve the required outcomes
  • Analyse and respond to complex clinical situations utilising specialist knowledge to assess a range of options to formulate solutions and recommendations
  • Act as a change agent, using skills that will motivate and reassure staff through negotiation and training to facilitate the change process
  • In conjunction with other clinical leads, facilitate collaborative working between disciplines
