We're seeking a Consultant - Operations Lead to join the Leadership team within Leadership, Learning & Culture.

You'll be involved in the end to end programme management, coodination, planning, reporting and tracking on various cross Society development programmes.


Consultants are individual contributors who can work independently and as part of a self-organising team with expertise in managing and developing operational processes to effectively coordinate and manage the day to day running of large scale, high volume development programmes for Managers and Leaders.

LLC is responsible for building Society wide capability, a key deliverable for our strategic culture and capability lever.

The focus of LLC is to develop and embed key skills, and behaviours of our leaders, managers, and colleagues, so the Society wide business can deliver the strategy and meet customer needs.


This role within the Leadership team, coordinates and operationally leads on the delivery of large scale and targeted manager and leader development.

Your success isn't based on how long you spend at your desk. You'll have contracted hours, but we're always happy to support flexible working wherever we can.

There will be an expectation to attend events at Nationwide offices spread largely between London and Swindon on a regular basis.


What you'll be doing:


  • Manage, develop and document operational processes that support and enable the smooth running of the leadership practices portfolio of development programmes
  • Manage and review the plan and delivery schedule, identifying risks and coordinating the flow of activity to ensure enough resource is allocated to deliver our portfolio of programmes
  • You'll work closely and build relationships with the training admin team, a pool of associates coordinating activity, reporting, and tracking budgets.
  • Work closely and partner with our 3rd party suppliers, and key stakeholders across the business to gain buy in and successfully operationalise and deliver development programmes.
  • Manage the learner experience across multiple programmes and at different levels of management and leadership, capturing feedback and developing feedback reports
  • Create and monitor reporting dashboards for MI and senior level reporting supporting our ability to track attendance and completion
  • Manage and document 360 feedback processes that are part of the programmes and coordinate all activity

About you:


As an experienced Consultant you will have a proven track record in managing, coordinating and operationally facilitating successful end to end development programmes.


As a minimum requirement, you'll need to have:

  • Experience of operational programme management, using Agile ways of working and associated practices
  • Experience of developing operational processes to effectively deliver large scale development programmes across an organisation
  • Experience of tracking and monitoring budgets, programme reporting and evaluation for development programme
  • A planned and organised approach with clear and varied communication and presentation skills
  • Knowledge of the external landscape and best practice around manager and leader development programmes
  • The ability to build, collaborate and sustain effective relationships with key internal stakeholders and external partners at all levels
  • Strong influencing skills with the ability to challenge and negotiate with stakeholders
  • Analytical skills with the ability to develop and measure insights
