We currently have a vacancy for a Legal Services Support Officer to join our Legal, Governance and Compliance Team.

It is an exciting time to be joining the Mayoral Combined Authority.

We have a wide variety of exciting projects that we are working on which will help shape the West Yorkshire region.

In 2021 the £1.8bn devolution deal was secured for West Yorkshire.

This meant the first Mayor of West Yorkshire was subsequently elected, with Tracy Brabin taking up post in May 2021.

The devolution deal and election of the Mayor has enabled us to start to drive up living standards for local communities while tackling the climate emergency and helping to deliver our commitment to become a net zero carbon city region by 2038.

The Role
Reporting into the Legal Business Practice Manager, the key responsibilities are but not limited to:

  • To provide a full and comprehensive administration service for the Legal & Governance team.
  • Input data onto electronic systems, such as legal case management system, including confidential and sensitive legal and employee information.
  • Manage and coordinate the teams financial and budgetary records and processes, including placing orders and processing invoices for payment.
  • To provide business support to the legal team with debt recovery matters and Insurance claims
  • Providing a supporting role for dealing with contracts, such as assisting Lawyers in the sealing process of legal documents and the binding, safe and secure storage of deeds and documents.

About you
You will have the following key skills, attributes, education and experience:

  • Educated to A Level or equivalent experience / Qualified to NVQ level 3 Administration (or equivalent experience).
  • Experience of undertaking general admin duties in an office environment. Experience of working as a personal assistant is desirable.
  • Practical experience of successfully performing in a similar role.
