A leading specialist Insurance Company is currently recruiting for a high profile and progressive Catastrophe Analyst opportunity

Using the catastrophe vendor model, you will liaise regularly with the third-party modelling team, ensuring queries are answered, processes are followed and providing help and guidance where needed.

You will ensure the integrity of the model output and work towards continual improvement of processes.

Engaging actively with the Underwriters, you will bridge the gap between underwriting and the third-party modelling team, resulting in increased transparency of modelling and analytics.

Some of the key tasks may include:

Maintaining an excellent relationship with third-party modelling team, answering queries and providing ongoing guidance
Supporting the Reinsurance Lead to ensure accurate and timely completion of BAU tasks, focused on Property Reinsurance
Communication with the Underwriters on modelling queries and explanations, ensuring a high level of confidence.
Peer reviewing third party output, providing teaching and recommend improvement strategies where necessary.
Assist the Cat Opts team with ongoing projects, including collaboration projects with wider PO.

Skills, Knowledge and Expertise Required:

24 years' experience using a thirdparty catastrophe model, ideally for reinsurance (though not essential).
A good grasp of the re/insurance market, re/insurance modelling complexities and catastrophe model methodology.
Strong communication skills and a demonstrated ability to explain complex data and ideas.
Proficient in SQL / R/ Python or other coding languages.
