What you'll do


You will be part of the future of vehicle propulsion systems which will fulfil a suite of tests as defined by the vehicle/unit programme to deliver test planning for Battery, EDU's, Engines and other sub-commodities.


The main activity for the role is support the Lead Test Planning Engineer to coordinate the preparation, and management of the fixed facilities and to provide credible test plans to enable quality testing to happen to support business sign off within Powertrain.

The systems under test are to enable customer test activity across a number of internal and external facilities.

This will include ownership of project kick off, development of robust plans, co-ordination, reporting, governance and control of work and team activity.

The role requires you to adhere to and develop processes where required, and to develop future plans to provide the quality, capability and capacity required, in a safe environment, within agreed timelines.

With a keen eye for detail and supporting continuous improvement to increase test efficiency and product quality. Review data appropriately to ensure a positive outcome for audits. Produce and maintain accurate delivery plans and liaise with key stakeholders to keep them informed.


The opportunity

  • Support Cross functional, short
- and long-term planning meetings.

  • Daily management of project planning status and tools (Wrike, JIRA.)
  • Work with customers to manage plan forecasts for test facilities.
  • Deliver annual budgeting through interrogation and management of customer requests.
  • Support and agree baseline plan for facilities
  • Support the delivery of test plans through effective scheduling of internal & external facilities
  • Monitor and report on adherence to test timing
  • Support initial information capture from internal customers
  • Produce KPIs for team and report out as necessary
  • Support internal process documentation and process improvement/transformation activity
  • Provide improvement activities with the goal of improving test efficiency and product quality
  • To support activities that result in a positive outcome from audits, e.g. IATF TS16949, OHSAS18001, ISO 1400
  • Undertake any other work as directed by their line manager in connection with their job as may be requested.

What you'll need

Essential:


  • Project planning, management and control experience
  • Able to work independently, and achieve the full benefits of collective effort from a wider team
  • Clear and confident communications
  • Ability to maintain focus under pressure
  • Proactive attitude and willingness to learn new systems and processes
  • Ability to accurately and concisely present complex ideas or project issues to a diverse audience

  • Willingness to challenge existing thinking in a positive way whilst building credibility and trust through experience and personal style
  • Computer literate, including Microsoft Office competency to produce plans, presentations, graphs, and processes.

Desirable:


  • Technical expertise and experience of automotive test facility and vehicle electrification component testing
  • Experienced or trained in Agile methodologies, Six Sigma, Black Belt and Green Belt Training and certification.
  • Experience with IATF16949, TS16949 or ISO9001 standards and requirements
  • Educated to Degree level in a Project Management, Systems, Mechanical, Electrical/Electronic or related field / NVQ Level 4 level education in a relevant environment
  • Experience of working in an Agile environment
