Position:

This is a great opportunity to join an established market leader within the Storage Equipment Industry.

A part of the growing IWS Group of companies, Rack Group have a team of dedicated storage equipment inspectors and we are looking to add to our team.

Although the company is based in South Yorkshire, our customers and projects are on a national level therefore we are looking to create a team that can service this level of coverage.


The role of an Inspector involves working within a team of dedicated Storage Equipment Inspectors to carry out racking safety inspections on clients' sites, using current PUWER standards and processes.

Your typical working week will involve a mixture of inspecting, reporting and engaging with clients, offering a professional, friendly and approachable outlook.

Operating nationally enables the development of broad experience at different customer sites, therefore a moderate level of travel is required for this role.


Main responsibilites include:


  • Carry out inspections on industrial storage equipment as detailed within the department schedule, using current software and processes.
  • Undertake training on all appropriate software.
  • Produce high quality reports using industry standards in line with current procedures and processes.
  • Complete inspections/projects in a variety of environments.
  • Provide technical and ongoing support to existing clients.
  • Offer where appropriate, other services and products to clients from the company's portfolio of products an services.


It is the responsibility of the Inspector to ensure that inspections/projects are carried out to the highest standard and according to current health and safety/PUWER regulations, in line with specific customer requirements where needed.


  • Build and maintain effective customer working relationships.
  • Meet or exceed customer's expectations on delivery of inspection.
  • Maintain auditable documentation trails with accuracy
  • Form part of the Inspection working group, reviewing processes and systems to create an effective department.
  • Demonstrate continuous improvement.


The Inspector (PUWER) role will involve working alongside/shadowing other inspectors from the team until they have passed their probation period and/or have met specified criteria.

The Inspector will attend training courses where necessary, to further improve skills and industry knowledge.


Requirements:


  • Good standard of general education backed by a track record of continuing professional development.
  • Industrial Storage Equipment Experience
  • IPAF Licence
  • Working at Height/Harness Qualification
  • Experience in Inspection of Industrial Storage Equipment Experience (PUWER Regulations) is desirable
  • Must be able to prioritise and develop own work schedule.
  • Demonstrate exemplary communication and customer engagement and report writing skills.
  • Collaborate effectively with others to ensure business improvements and efficiency.
  • Demonstrate knowledge of H&S regulations relevant to the industrial storage equipment industry.
  • Have some knowledge and understanding of products, systems of work, inspection techniques and construction basics within the industry.
  • Experienced with AutoCAD and Site Notes software.

Other information:


The usual expectation is 40 Hours per week and there may be the occasional overnight stay due to the nature of the work but we aim to keep inspectors as local as possible.
