**We have a great opportunity to join our Education team as Student Support Worker
- for Novus, our prison education provider at HMP Oakwood, offered on a fixed term, full-time basis working 37hrs per week. What the role entails


As a Student Support Worker you will provide a support service to new receptions in our Induction classroom, and to established learners across the department.

The support role includes delivering the induction package to small groups, conducting initial assessments and LDD assessments, producing Learning Support Plans, and recording all information on two digital systems.


What we need from you
In order to be successful in the role of Student Support Worker, you will need:

  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Relevant experience of conducting initial assessments and supporting learning of individuals and groups
  • Experience of working with groups of learners with a range of abilities.
  • Experience of successful working in an effective multidisciplinary team
  • Good computer skills
  • To hold or be willing to work towards level 2 qualifications in literacy and numeracy within an agreed timescale
