The role

As a Project Procurement Specialist, you'll have a role that's out of the ordinary providing a comprehensive supply chain service to the Devonport submarine programmes.

Day to day, you'll have accountability within a defined scope of materials and/or subcontract services, for the Submarine Supply Chain design, execution and performance for a Business Unit's project(s).

Establish project requirements, including those driven by the future bid pipeline
Design and engagement of a supply chain that meets project requirements
Supporting the delivery of project objectives through the rigorous management of contract and supplier performance
Assuring supplier performance to time, cost and quality for contract requirements against scope of supplier responsibility
Have responsibility for typically.£10m expenditure within the project(s) scope

This role is full time - 36 hours and will be based on site at Devonport Royal Dockyard 3 days per week with hybrid working from home arrangements.

Essential experience of the Project Procurement Specialist:

Experienced procurement practitioner with knowledge of current strategic procurement techniques and relevant experience in sourcing and procurement
Understanding of contract terms and conditions and the ability to manage subcontract terms including flowdown terms from customer contracts
Deep understanding of planning and implementing supply arrangements, managing supplier performance and scheduling of deliveries
Understanding of cost models, for example in relation to the NEC models, familiarity with accounting practices, commercial audits, forecasting and valuations and supplier costing models
Delivery focused with a pragmatic, handson approach that enables strategies to be fully executed
