Do you have a passion for engineering and a drive for excellence? ISS is currently seeking a Head of Technical Services to lead our customer-facing engineering service for Aviva, a global leader in the insurance industry.


In this dynamic role, you'll have the opportunity to collaborate with our Workplace Management Team to strategically develop and deliver outstanding engineering and asset management services across Aviva's entire property portfolio.

You'll be responsible for ensuring that all engineering services meet statutory compliance, audit readiness, and equipment resilience standards while maintaining a laser focus on health and safety.


As the Head of Technical Services, you'll have the chance to lead a team of skilled professionals to deliver exceptional results for one of our key clients.

You'll be empowered to take ownership of training and development opportunities, driving innovation, and ensuring that our engineering services are second to none.


Key Responsibilities

  • Strategic ownership of the engineering function on the account including compliance, technical resilience, asset management, project pipeline, training and development
  • Ensure and demonstrate that all engineering services are properly delivered in line with the national approach, agreed contract scope and service delivery models
  • Work to achieve a national approach through a common standard for Engineering and Fabric services, including those services provided through supplier organisations
  • Ensure that critical systems are maintained and are providing the environmental conditions and business needs required by the Clients
  • Ensure that all PPM, reactive and project works are within the agreed contract arrangements, delivered to consistent and common processes and methodologies and are fully compliant with statutory and H&S requirements
  • Ensure that all sites, in particular technical sites, are "audit ready" as far as engineering services are concerned

  • Proven experience of critical engineering environments
  • A highlevel focus on the achievement of targeted results
  • A high level of flexibility and a positive attitude to innovation and change
  • A demonstrated commitment to the ongoing success of the business
  • Excellent communicator, able to quickly build relationships with others


  • People person

  • Team player
  • Ability to travel widely within the UK
  • Electrical & mechanical qualifications applicable to the role
  • IOSH or NEBOSH
  • Good general level of education, preferably to higher education level
  • Professional qualifications & memberships
