About ERM:

As the largest global pure play sustainability consultancy, we partner with the world's leading organizations, creating innovative solutions to sustainability challenges and unlocking commercial opportunities that meet the needs of today while preserving opportunity for future generations.

At ERM we know that creating a diverse, equitable and inclusive work environment is an essential part of making our company a great place to build a career.

We also see our diversity as a strength that helps us create better solutions for our clients.

Our diverse team of world-class experts supports clients across the breadth of their organizations to operationalize sustainability, underpinned by our deep technical expertise in addressing their environmental, health, safety, risk and social issues.

We call this capability our "boots to boardroom" approach for its comprehensive service model that allows ERM to develop strategic and technical solutions that advance objectives on the ground or at the executive level.

The Political & Social Advisory Services (PSAS) team specialises in advising top-level executives on stakeholder, (geo)political, and ESG issues with strategic implications.

We advise some of the world's largest companies and engage with international stakeholders at the most senior levels.

We believe the future's most successful energy and resource firms will be those that manage these risks better than their competitors.

We have two main goals:

to provide authoritative, independent analysis on such issues; and to assist clients to manage them in a strategic, forward-thinking, and responsible way.

Our core team brings together high-level experience working for major global institutions, government and several major energy and resource firms.

Our network of senior advisors spans over 75 countries and includes former senior executives in global companies, former ambassadors, government ministers, civil society leaders and other leading opinion formers.

The opportunity:

  • Supporting the team on client assignments, including research into sociopolitical issues around resource projects as well as on broader global issues, contributing to analyses for client reports, preparing notes following conversations with regional or issue experts and supporting project managers in successful delivery of the client projects
  • Supporting business development, including researching opportunities across the world, preparing materials for meetings or conferences, supporting senior team members in their business development outreach, and participating in meetings and calls
  • Contributing to case studies, articles for our website and notes of interviews with international experts
  • Organizing and helping to manage highlevel events; supporting the coordination of our global advisory network

This is an exciting opportunity for anyone who wants to gain practical experience in the sustainability and political risk fields.

Much of the work will be challenging and intellectually engaging, often with tight deadlines, and involve research on a globally important set of issues, with some potential opportunities for international travel.

We offer a working environment which is driven by our social purpose, which values initiative and excellence, and is highly supportive of employees' professional development.

The role would suit applicants with 1-2 years of work experience or recent graduates.
