A1 Services is a dynamic, professional, and long-established business who specialise in the recycling and disposal of soil, concrete, hardcore and general waste from a range of commercial projects, with a focus on providing an exceptional customer service experienceWe are currently recruiting for a dependable and multi skilled Transport Administrator based at our offices in Swinton, Manchester.
The purpose of the role is to provide administrative support and the creation of accurate data for the management of the haulage fleet, consisting of 30 HGVs, which deal with the removal of excavated soils or the delivery of primary / recycled aggregate.
The individual will also be trained to provide cover for the Transport Co-ordinator and Weighbridge Operator whenever necessaryMain Responsibilities:
- Help with the coordination of the day to day fleet operation, ensuring efficiency of vehicles and legality/compliance of drivers and their hours Accurate data collation to support on time collections and deliveries
- Ensure that scheduled work is executed in a safe and timely manner and all products are delivered to company standards and exceeding our customers' requirements
- Inputting and monitoring drivers' holidays and sickness absence, maintaining the timekeeping and attendance system and processing sick notes
- Regularly updating the WTD system, ensuring the data is up to date and accurate
- Creating and providing daily reports to the Transport department regarding tachograph information
- Receiving and monitoring fuel deliveries, maintaining the fuel monitoring system
- Support investigation of any driver wage queries
- Providing various reports / spreadsheets for internal departments in a timely manner
- Carrying out any other formal and legal duties
- Escalation both internally and direct to the client in the event of delays or likely impact to schedule
- Develop a good working relationships with drivers
- Develop good working relationships with key suppliers and customer
- Respond and assist with customer queries / issues / requirements
- Concise & precise communication with internal business functions
- Ensure all transport records are maintained to DVSA guidelines.
- Deal with all defects, servicing and accident reporting
- Provide cover for other roles in the Transport team when required
Schedule
Monday to Friday
On call responsibilities outside of working hours maybe required occasionally
Experience
Previous experience gained in a similar role is preferred but not essential as training will be provided.
Transport Role: 2 years (preferred)
Transport Manager CPC (preferred)
Skills
Excellent administration skills and attention to detail
Excellent communication skills and ability to succeed in a pressurised environment
Able to work using own initiative and with little supervision
Good knowledge of MS Office, in particular Excel, Word, Outlook (or equivalent)
Required
Knowledge of Drivers Hours Legislation
Knowledge of WTD Legislation
Sound geographical knowledge of the Greater Manchester Area
PC literate
Strong admin skills
