RG Freight Recruitment are working on behalf of an independently owned freight and logistics client to find an experienced
Ocean Export Operator to join the team in their
Bradford office.

This client is an well known name in the freight and logistics market with four offices in strategic locations across the UK.

As non asset based business, this client has the flexibility to source and negotiate with the best carriers in the world.

Coupled with a company ethos of training their operators to make calls and decisions based on their judgement, and experience this allows for a streamlined and bespoke service to be offered to be every customer.

The new role is for a driven, ambitious and experienced Ocean Export Operator to join the team with the potential to step up to a Team Leader position in the future.

The purpose of this role will be to manage ocean export shipments across the globe and providing a cost effective and professional service to customers

Responsibilities

Coordinate and execute endtoend ocean export shipments (LCL & FCL)
Collaborate with clients, carriers and other stakeholders to ensure a smooth service
Coordinate cargo pickup, delivery, and transportation arrangements as necessary.
Prepare and review export documentation,
Ensure accurate data entry and maintenance of shipment information in the company's systems.
Monitor and track shipments' progress, addressing delays or issues proactively and updating the customer
Assist in rate negotiations and bookings with ocean carriers to optimize costs and service quality.

The Person

3+ years experience of end to end ocean exports in a freight forwarding environment
Good knowledge of ocean export customs procedures and legalities
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
A passion for relationship building and customer service
