Senior Aircraft Ground Movement Specialist

Dar is seeking an experienced specialist to develop and implement micro-simulation models for aircraft ground movements within airport environments.

Key Responsibilities:

• Aircraft Simulation Model Development: Create detailed micro-simulation models of aircraft taxiing, pushback, towing, and stand operations to support airside planning and improve operational efficiency.
• Ground Movement Analysis: Analyze ground movement flows, delays, stand occupancy, and runway usage to identify areas for improvement.
• Landscape Assessment: Evaluate layout efficiency, conflict points, and turnaround operations to optimize airport performance.
• Flight Schedule Integration: Interpret and analyze flight schedules to model realistic aircraft movements and validate simulation outputs.
• Interdisciplinary Collaboration: Work closely with airside planners, layout designers, and operational teams to ensure seamless integration of simulation results into airport design and operations.
• Technical Output Delivery: Present technical findings, visualizations, and scenario assessments to stakeholders in a clear and concise manner.

Requirements:

• Expertise: Minimum 10 years of experience in transport or airport simulation, with a focus on aircraft ground movements.
• Software Proficiency: Proficient in tools such as AirTop, CAST, or similar aircraft simulation software.
• Airport Knowledge: Strong understanding of aircraft operations, stand allocation, apron procedures, and gate assignment logic.
• Communication Skills: Effective communication and reporting abilities, with the capacity to present complex data in an easily digestible format.
• Critical Thinking: Ability to interpret and integrate airport layout drawings into simulation models and assess layout efficiency.
