The Opportunity


An exciting opportunity has arisen in our Manchester office for an experienced Personal Assistant (PA) to provide maternity leave cover to support two of Arup's Directors within our Northwest and Yorkshire (NW&Y) Geography Advisory team.

This key role requires someone with robust experience supporting highly motivated Leaders.

A discreet nature, initiative, individual awareness and influencing skills together with excellent communication, planning and organisational capabilities would be key attributes required for this position.


This is a vital role in helping to develop, plan and deliver their strategy for Arup as well as providing day-to-day administrative support.

This role will suit an experienced PA and will enable the post holder to play a critical part in meeting broader business objectives.


The PA will develop a good understanding of how the business works, supporting the Leaders in meeting their ambitious agendas, managing a busy and fast-moving diary, requiring you to be organised, proactive and assertive whilst working in a calm and approachable way.

This is a full-time temporary role (maternity leave).


Is this role right for you?

We are looking for people who:

  • Possess previous experience at leadership level and a proven record of excellent PA skills
  • Will be poised when working under pressure, while maintaining a sense of humour
  • Are selfmotivated and able to work independently, with the ability to manage their own workload
  • Have excellent computer and digital skills and indepth knowledge of relevant software such as MS Office Suite and Teams, and have a good comprehension of Excel and Powerpoint. Some knowledge of using CRM would be helpful but training will be provided. Use of other digital software such as Miro, Whiteboard, Trello, etc would all be highly beneficial.
  • Have an ability to work and function effectively as an integral part of the Business Operations team as well as the wider Geographical teams, in addition to being able to initiate and drive projects on your own with mínimal supervision.
