Description

Global Counsel is seeking an Associate to join its UK Politics & Policy practice. The team helps organisations across various sectors to overcome policy challenges and maximise opportunity. These include tech, food & drink, financial services, and retail.

Role and responsibilities

Support the monitoring and analysis of key policy announcements and regulatory trends in the UK.
Support the delivery of advocacy strategies through carrying out stakeholder mapping and providing informed insight on the UK political landscape.
Work with colleagues to develop and deliver clients' strategies as they seek to shape or comply with new legislation and/or build their political brand.
Provide daytoday contact for clients, building positive client relationships and delivering actions and projects to meet clients' needs and deadlines.
Support business development by identifying potential clients, researching their interests, and producing tailored outreach.
Support the development of events and content as part of the team's broader marketing campaigns and efforts to contribute to policy debate and discussion. Act as an active ambassador for Global Counsel at relevant industry and policy events, and invest in developing the skills, expertise and reputation of yourself and others.

Skills and profile

Knowledge of the policymaking architecture in the UK (Westminster & Whitehall).
The ability to make inferences and draw conclusions about how politics and regulations affect businesses and understand how that knowledge may be applied to Global Counsel's business development.
The ability to take the initiative on work, and to work well independently and as part of a team.
Selfawareness and a strong commitment to professional and personal development.
Excellent interpersonal and written communication skills in English. Any other language skills are an advantage, but nonessential.
