Grafton Banks Finance Ltd is pleased to be supporting a well known FMCG based near Tonbridge with their recruitment of a Senior Financial Accountant.

Our client is keen to bring in an experienced and qualified Accountant to manage a small finance team foran initial 6 month fixed term contract.


Role to include the following:

  • Build, motivate and mentor a dynamic team (team of two), ensuring achievement of individual and collective objectives; recruiting and retaining the knowledge, skills and attitudes to sustain high levels of performance over time, able to provide adequatecover for each role.
  • Drive process improvements and initiatives that positively influence the efficiency and function of the finance team and the wider businesses.
  • Ensure that financial transactions are recorded accurately, on time and in full to meet the requirements of all internal stakeholders by expected deadlines.
  • Responsible for the preparation, completeness and timeliness of accurate financial information to meet external stakeholder deadlines; including but not limited to VAT returns, EC sales, Intrastat and Office of National Statistics returns.
  • Responsible for the reconciliation of intercompany balances, liaising with other finance teams in the group to ensure that both entities have recorded the same balance in their financial records.
  • Accountable for review of period end balance sheet reconciliations, ensuring that supporting documentation provides full financial transparency.
  • Responsible for managing the cashflow in multiple currencies, working closely with the Financial Accountant to minimize finance charges and to make decisions on how to utilize draw down facilities to borrow funds as required.
  • Monitor FX rates and purchase currency in line with cashflow requirements, communicating with the business on current rates, status of time options and FX gains and losses.
  • Submit audit deliverables in a timely manner and liase with auditors to provide information and explanations as required to facilitate the production of an unqualified audit report.
  • Build Balance Sheet budgets and working capital forecasts, working collaboratively with the wider finance team to meet deadlines.
  • Maintain general ledger codes and cost centres in the ERP system(s) in line with the chart of accounts structure.
  • Ensure that finance procedures are documented and reviewed on a regular basis and made available to the finance team.
  • ACCA/CIMA/ACA qualified.
  • Team management experience.
  • SAP experience (preferred but not essential).
  • Technical accounting experience.
