My client is currently looking for a Principal FPGA Engineer to join their multi award winning space/satellite business.

They are currently in an incredibly exciting joint venture with the European Space Agency in creating a product that will revolutionisethe space communications industry.

This could be a fantastic time to join and be at the forefront of creating new, cutting-edge technology at a business that has won numerous awards for enterprise and innovation.

Due to the nature of the role requiring labtime to develop new products, this role will be 3 days onsite in either Rickmansworth or Madley and is being offered at £90,000 - £110,000 + discretionary bonus.

This would suit someone with a strong background in network protocols and working knowledge of communications systems and digital signal processing.


Responsibilities will include:

  • Design and develop a range of modules and equipment for digital IF
  • Integration and test of digital IF equipment
  • Produce HDL code for VITA49 or similar network SDR transport protocols
  • Ability to write & debug Linux drivers
  • Scripting in TCL designs utilizing IP Cores for rapid development
  • Build scripting to support continuous integration
  • Design and development of test benches to prove VHDL code
  • Conduct floorplanning and timing analysis of designs, achieving timing closure
  • Test of HDL code on target platform

Requirements:


  • Strong background of working with RF
  • Experience of implementing FPGAbased network equipment
  • Confident writing FPGA test benches
  • Able to efficiently implement DSP algorithms in VHDL and ideally experience of DSP algorithm simulation in MATLAB/Python
