This is a hybrid role Home/Preston


A highly motivated Admin Business Support Officer is required to enhance an already established friendly and supportive team who will contribute to the key work of the Highways Department supporting the District Lead team.


If you are unable to provide a suitable homeworking environment, you will be required to work from your office base or nearest suitable office location.


Key Responsibilities:


  • Providing general administrative support across two teams.
  • Support the District Lead Team in administration of the casework of county council Members, MP's, District and Parish Councillors.
  • Assist the Complaints Officer to deal with Highways Complaints received into the team following the guidelines of the formal complaints process.
  • Data processing.
  • Setting up of new cases and project demands.
  • Providing support for meetings including arranging dates, room bookings, preparation of agendas and note taking.
  • Responding to and resolving where appropriate enquiries generated by the Services.

Skills & experience:


  • Previous customer service experience
  • Previous experience of working within an administration setting
  • Good IT skills
  • Able to clearly communicate the information you need and listen to individual requirements is key.
  • Good organisational skills
  • Previous experience in a similar role, ideally in a public sector organisation
