Faculty / Directorate

The Estates & Commercial Services Directorate is large and diverse, employing circa 300 people, ranging from plumbers, electricians, carpenters, cleaners, porters, leisure centre assistants, to property management professionals, architects, project officers,CAD, space management, sustainability and energy and administrative personnel.

Role

You will be part of a team responsible for providing an efficient Porterage service to the university working in all buildings on campus.

This role includes providing an efficient porterage service, which includes the movement of furniture/equipment/materials,setting up of classrooms/exhibitions/ceremonies, the acceptance of deliveries and provisons of a waste /recycling waste disposal service.

Based at the Leicester campus you will work 37 hours a week between the hours of 07.00am and 10.00pm Monday - Sunday on a shift pattern to meet the needs of the business(predominantly Monday-Friday).

The position is on a permanent contract.

You will have a flexible approach and attitude in providing a high standard of customer service which enhances the day to day working and learning experience of Staff, Students and exhibtion organisors.

Experience in a similar environment is essential andyou must have a good understanding and awareness of Health and Safety requirements, to providing this service.
