    Postdoctoral Scientist - Structural Studies

    To work within the group of Dr Lori Passmore at the MRC Laboratory of Molecular Biology, understanding biogenesis of mRNA poly(A) tail. This involves investigating the roles of RNA binding proteins in controlling poly(A) tail length, using yeast and sequencing methodologies.

    This is a three-year training position for a Postdoctoral Scientist who has recently completed their doctoral studies, moving into a new research discipline or has limited experience of key transferable skills. The goal is to develop novel approaches and methods where required, ensuring the research is carried out in accordance with good practice and in compliance with local policies and legal requirements.

    The ideal candidate will have experience of working collaboratively, training others and a strong background in RNA biology. They will report to Dr Lori Passmore and interact with other Postdoctoral Scientists, Research Support staff and students within the LMB and external groups as necessary.

    This role offers a range of formal and on-the-job training, including MRC training courses, external training and personal development courses, one-to-one training with your Supervisor and other Scientists. The salary for this position is £41,344 per annum.
