**Permanent contract | £20,806.05 to £22,018.37 per annum (Scale H) | 24 hours per week | County Hall, Norwich

A rewarding opportunity has become available within our Road Safety skills Team within Public Health to support; the Road Safety Partnership and our ambition; 'To promote strategies and positive behaviours and skills to reduce risk taking behaviours that may contribute to being involved in a killed or seriously injured collision on Norfolk's Roads.

We are looking to appoint a Road Safety Officer who is an Approved Driving Instructor (ADI) and experienced in behaviour change to support the driving; on-road elements, develop tool kits, resources, and content for campaigns within this job description on a flexible part time bases (24 hours).


The Road Safety Officer position is an important member of the Road Safety Team, they will need to be creative, have a passion for keeping up to date with; data, research and best practise, have excellent; communication and organisation skills, patient and build positive relationships across the partnership and with different members of the community.

You will be responsible for providing a preventative, evaluation led approach and driver expertise to help reduce causalities on Norfolk's roads.


You must have a full and clean license and you will be required to drive and provide some driver training as part of this role.

  • Older Driver programmes including reviewing and evaluating our current GOLD scheme, creating and delivering; theory sessions/tool kits and attending Older driver subgroups/forums.
  • Young and newly qualified driver's. Creating and evaluating tool kits/resources and attending young driver subgroups/forums.
  • When required provide resilience to the Road Safety Skills lead to deliver NDORS and business schemes of work.
