Prime Objectives:

The Sustainability Advisor role will primarily be responsible for helping the company to meet

its sustainability obligations by supporting the Sustainability Manager.

The job holder must be pro-active and prioritise their own workload which may include, but is

not limited to, such activities as energy system management, waste audits, sustainable

working practices, sustainability advice & training, working practice investigations.

The job holder must be able to effectively communicate and prioritise demands

based on risk and business priorities and in consultation with the Sustainability Manager.


Key Result Areas:


  • Assisting the company in the development, management, and modification of social responsibility policies.
  • Increasing public awareness of a company's social responsibility commitments through marketing
  • Reiterating the company's social responsibility policies through internal communication.
  • Reaching out to the public through public relations and marketing to convey the company's commitment to social responsibility.
  • Conducting research into best practice
  • Fostering connections between the company and other organisations
  • Ensuring that a company's policies fulfill legal and commercial requirements
  • Reporting on social responsibility activities to top management

  • Problem Solver
  • Good communicator (both face to face and by telephone)
  • Attention to detail and accuracy, and adept and manipulating large amounts of data


  • Proficient IT skills

  • Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook etc.)
  • Organisation and timemanagement skills
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to develop relationships at all levels
  • Experience of energy / environmental management
  • Delivery of training to colleagues
  • Writing reports and presenting to senior leadership and key stakeholders
  • Knowledge of environmental & sustainability legislation and regulatory requirements & compliance

Desirable Attributes:


  • Experience in contract management
  • Able to work autonomously where required

Job Types:
Part-time, Permanent

Expected hours: 24 per week
