Description

We are currently recruiting for an Accounts Admin Assistant to step into this newly created role to join our team in Colchester and support our finance teams across a wide range of responsibilities.

Bertelsmann Accounting Services Ltd (BeAS) is an accounting shared service centre established in 2018 to provide accounting functions for Bertelsmann group companies in the UK.

Comprising of a team of over 50, and based at the Penguin Random House distribution centre on the outskirts of Colchester, the group companies served by BeAS include Penguin Random House, DK, BMG, Arvato SCM and Prinovis.

The services provided by BeAS include Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Banking, Audit and General Accounting (general ledger, fixed assets, tax, financial reporting etc.).

The Role

This role has been created to assist in various admin roles across the accounting shared service centre, including Accounts Receivable, General Accounting and diary management.

Your day to day will be varied across a variety of administrative tasks including:

  • Diary management
  • Arranging meetings, visits and events with both internal and external stakeholders
  • Raising invoices
  • Reviewing and processing expense claims
  • Tracking team tasks and progress
  • Supporting the wider team with ad hoc requests
Who is suited for this position

This role is a great opportunity for someone who is keen to join a busy and supportive team - where they can build up their administrative experience to support their career down a number of routes - from personal assistant to finance specialist.

We'll be looking to see the following:

  • Proven organisational skills including diary management
  • Strong communication skills, and comfortable dealing with different people both internally and externally
  • An analytical approach comfortable reviewing data and information to then follow an agreed process
  • Good levels of attention to detail
  • Competent using Microsoft packages including excel, word and outlook
  • A collaborative working style
We're currently experimenting with hybrid working and involving colleagues across the business to shape our future ways of working. The needs of our teams and individuals are different, so we're not taking a one-size-fits-all approach.

While our offices are places to connect, collaborate and celebrate with colleagues, we recognise that flexibility about where you work is just as important for doing your best work and for your wellbeing.

For this role, there are meetings and activities that you will need to attend in person at our offices in Colchester, so expect to be in the office approximately twice a week.

The exact balance of office to remote working will depend on the nature of your role and team needs, and we are open to discussing this through the recruitment process.

How to apply

Salary:
up to £25,000 depending on how your skills and experience align to the role, plus benefits.
