Description

This is an exciting opportunity to join a thriving department of Psychological Medicine in a large University Hospital NHS Trust.

We are looking for an enthusiastic and able individual to provide clinical input to the multidisciplinary Pain Management Service at the Churchill Hospital.

Clinical Psychology services for patients suffering with Chronic Pain have been provided for many years at the Churchill Hospital, and we have strong links with the Pain Rehabilitation service at the specialist Nuffield Orthopaedic Centre in Oxford.

Evidence-based psychological treatments such as Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Mindfulness, and Acceptance-Based therapies (ACT) are integrated within a multidisciplinary care package offered by Anaesthetists, Specialist Nurses and Physiotherapists.

Pain Psychology input is offered as a tertiary level service as referrals are only accepted from other members of the Pain team, ensuring specialist medical assessment and intervention has been completed.

Psychology is highly valued within the team and there is plenty of opportunity for you to develop your consultation, supervision, and teaching skills.

Previous experience of working in the field of pain is desirable, but not essential.

Oxford University Hospitals Trust actively encourages and supports supervision and CPD. We have strong academic links and are very active in audit and research. We take trainees from the Oxford Institute of Clinical Psychology Training.
