Accounts Senior

Chartered Accountancy Firm

Plymouth city centre based

£24,000 to £30,000
My client is an established accountancy practice based in Plymouth and is looking to add to the growing team.


We are looking for people who have AAT qualifications (or are actively studying towards AAT) with experience working within an accounts position dealing with tax and VAT either in an agency or direct employment position.


You will be responsible for dealing with financial statements, client tax and VAT returns, looking after a small team of Juniors, and working with senior management on complex projects.

My client works with Xero accounting software so any prior work with this software is highly beneficial.


Key Accountabilities:


  • Drafting cashflows and forecasts
  • Drafting reconstituted accounts for clients to present to potential purchasers of their businesses.
  • Advising clients on bookkeeping methods and improvements to existing methods.
  • Attending SWAT courses and other external and internal training/update courses which are relevant to your clients e.g. Charities, Solicitors.
  • Drafting and filing various statutory forms on behalf of client businesses
  • Drafting management accounts for clients
