Glasgow Opportunities

We are looking for motivated and dynamic individuals with a passion for delivering excellent customer service to join our busy contact centre in Glasgow with positions available within our Customer Services team.

Our Repayments Officers are responsible for communicating and negotiating affordable repayment plans with customers who have been overpaid on their student finance or customers who have an arrears balance when repaying their student loan from overseas.

It is expected that a Repayments Officer shows empathy and understanding to customers who are potentially vulnerable or vulnerable within company and legislation guidelines and offers to signpost customers to appropriate support.

Working Patterns and Start Dates
SLC offers a blended working model where you can typically work 3 days at home with 2 days in the office, but we know this might not suit everyone and we can offer full time office working instead - the option is yours

To join our contact centre or assessment teams in Glasgow you must demonstrate the following:

Experience in working in a customer-focussed role, preferably within a high-volume contact centre or processing environment.
A minimum of grade C GCSE English and Maths (or Standard grade) or equivalent level qualification.
The ability to use your own initiative whilst working within defined guidelines and adapt to changing working environments, in a positive manner.
A commitment to continue your own learning and development whilst maintaining the key knowledge and skills required for your role.
Can showcase empathy and understanding towards customers potentially vulnerable or vulnerable and follow procedures around vulnerability to remain compliant.
Be expected to annually sit test around CSA Code of Practice as we deal with customer debt.
To negotiate an affordable repayment plan for customers based on customer circumstance.
Offers to signpost customers to support where appropriate.
