As the Head of Sanctions, you'll be responsible for supporting and advising the First Line of Defence to develop and enhance the control framework related to the CIB Sanctions Compliance Programme.

The role will b e responsible for Advisory and Oversight related to the Sanctions regime.


The difference you'll make.

  • Supporting the Global Head of FCC CIB to implement and maintain effective CIB Sanctions risk framework and provide strategic direction on how they are managed.
  • Working with the First Line of Defence and other relevant Group stakeholders to identify, control and assess sanctions risk in the Group.
  • Driving operational effectiveness of the Group Sanctions Risk Framework by acting as the Second Line oversight over the control framework.
  • Supporting the rollout and implementation of effective sanctions training across CIB.
  • Implementing a process that identifies and manages potential sanctions risk from regulatory and geopolitical changes and provides assurance that changes have been effectively embedded in the list management and other relevant business processes.
  • Developing and implementing strategies to broaden internal and external networks and keep up to date with regulatory requirements and industry best practice.

What you'll bring.

  • Senior leadership and sanctions experience within the banking sector.
  • Able to develop a sanctions control framework and strategy that aligns to the Group FCC strategy and CIB business strategy

It would also be nice for you to have.

  • Ability to use analytics capability to deploy screening and FCC technology solutions.
  • Able to concisely convey complex regulatory aspects and requirements to enable the business consumer to understand the approach required or the risk.
  • ICA qualification would be preferred.
  • Spanish language skills
