The Project Officer will provide project support to the Post Graduate Medical Education Department and leads within West Suffolk NHS Foundation Trust to develop and deliver on all aspects of training for doctors in line with local strategies and government initiatives.


STAFF CAR PARKING


Staff Car Parking on the West Suffolk Hospital Site is eligible for individuals working outside of the core hours, 07:00 - 18:30.


For individuals working within the core hours, the Trust offers parking off site at the Bury St Edmunds Rugby Club, which is serviced by a regular shuttle bus to and from the Hospital.

This post holder will support the ever-changing environment of training for doctors in Post Graduate Education at the trust.


The role involves working with a variety of stakeholders internally, externally, and around the region to deliver first class training for doctors.


Responsibilities will be include supporting and facilitating trainee engagement, communication roll out, budget management, data metric reporting and arranging events.

The post will provide a high-quality service to ensure that NHS standards are maintained and monitored in order to improve the quality and breadth of the education and training.

  • To support the Medical Education Manager and Director of Medical Education to deliver on the contractual requirements of Education and Training for doctors in training.
  • To plan and contribute to reports and programmes of work to support and drive change in education and training.
  • To manage and organise all aspects of the Physician Associate Student placements in collaboration with internal and external stakeholders.
  • To be responsible for working with external stakeholders and senior medical staff to collect data on Exception Reports for doctors in training and report to NHS England.
  • Organise and help to facilitate NHS England Educator Training Days for regional and local clinicians.
  • Interpret information published locally, regionally, and nationally on developments in Medical Education, to benchmark and assess the impact of delivery in the trust.
  • Support the development of Education and Training at a strategic level with a focus on supporting doctors in training, including trust grade doctors.
Organise and arrange speakers for the Grandround.

  • To be conversant with education budgets and to authorise expenditure against the education budget.


To manage and oversee Clinical Attachments requests and follow relevant work flows to ensure these are completed in a timely manner.
