Is business administration repetitive or boring?

It's neither, this couldn't be further from the truth, the NHS must be well organised and keep detailed records of patients and staff across several wards.

You'll support the ability for patients or other organisations to see or speak to the right person at the right time who can give them the help they need.

This could be booking an appointment, getting medical advice, or helping a patient navigate the trust when they visit.

So overall administration isn't boring, it's varied.

You'll find solutions to everyday problems, such as:

  • Improve patient pathways and minimise unnecessary visits to hospital, suitable patients referred on a TWW suspected skin cancer pathway will be triaged onto a new teledermatology pathway.
  • This involves attending an image capture appointment at the new Salford Community Diagnostic Centre (CDC). This has the potential to reduce waiting times for patients and provide a faster diagnosis. It can also optimise consultant working time through being able to review patients at a faster rate via the virtual platform.
  • Following the image capture appointment, a Consultant Dermatologist will review the images taken and provide an outcome via the eDerma platform, operated by Open Medical.
  • Patients will either be discharged, invited for a facetoface TWW / routine appointment or listed directly for outpatient procedure.
  • All patients deemed suitable for a direct surgical listing by a consultant will be contacted by a cancer clinical nurse specialist (CNS) for a telephone consultation explaining the planned procedure.
  • Patients will be provided information about the procedure either in the form of a written leaflet or signposting to the relevant leaflet online.

What you'll need:

  • Excellent communication skills
- both verbal and written

  • Microsoft office skills
  • Outlook, Word, and Excel
  • Ability to meet deadlines and work under pressure
  • Previous administrative experience
  • Previous NHS experience
