Description

Trained as a DDSL and assist with the day-to-day concerns in liaison with the wider team, ensuring that when necessary contact with parents and students is made.


  • At the direction of the Lead for Safeguarding, liaise with external agencies and provide information when necessary
  • Help to ensure that the safeguarding Log of Concern spreadsheet is completed in a timely fashion and provide information to the DSL, senior staff and Lead for Safeguarding when necessary
  • File the logs of concern and other appropriate documents, ensuring accuracy and full completion of paperwork.
  • Assist with the transfer of safeguarding files during midterm transfers, the transition of year 6 and year 11 students, and filing/archiving of files.
  • Prepare information/data for the DSL or Lead for Safeguarding as and when required
  • Deal with students, visitors, staff and telephone calls to the school in a polite, friendly and efficient manner and to take appropriate action to ensure that all enquiries, messages are passed to the correct person for action
  • Assist with the daytoday duties of the Safeguarding office including:
Triaging the logs of concern and ensuring that the correct DDSL deals with relevant cases

Dealing with low level logs of concern that come in daily


Alternative Provision (AP) register (under the direction of the Lead for Safeguarding and Child Protection)

  • Monitor the AP register, reminding relevant staff when IAEP's are coming close to an end date
  • Change timetables on Bromcom in a timely fashion to ensure the safeguarding of students
  • Liaise with staff to ensure that daily communication is happening for those students on an IAEP (including making welfare calls as appropriate)
  • Attend meetings with the Lead for safeguarding and AHT Inclusion to ensure the accuracy of the AP register.

  • GCSE or equivalent (preferred)

  • Administrative: 1 year (preferred)
