Silver Birch Golf Club is a well-established golf club with a growing membership, based near to Abergele in North Wales.
We are looking to add to a skilled and dedicated Head Groundsmpreson to join our team as soon as possible and need an experienced individual who is passionate about their craft to manage with the golf course maintenance.
As Head Groundsperson, you will be responsible for maintaining and developing our golf course. This is a hands-on role that requires a strong work ethic and a passion for greenkeeping.The ideal applicant will possess the following attributes and qualifications:
- Minimum NVQ Level
- A strong work ethic and excellent leadership skills
- Full driving license
- Excellent interpersonal skills, and an ability to communicate with members as well as colleagues
- Selfmotivated, but with strong time management skills
- Experience in similar role
- Excellent time management skills to prioritize tasks effectively
- Ability to perform physical tasks such as lifting heavy objects and working outdoors in various weather conditions
- Basic mechanical knowledge for troubleshooting equipment issues
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions accurately
Responsibilities:
- Perform landscape maintenance tasks such as mowing, edging, and trimming
- Operate power tools and equipment to complete tasks efficiently
- Use hand tools to dig, build, and maintain golf course areas
- Irrigate plants and ensure proper watering schedules
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of work areas
- Monitor and report any issues or concerns related to plant health or equipment maintenance
- Manage other team members to complete work/projects in a timely manner
- Operation of various types of mowing equipment used on greens, tees, fairways, surrounds and roughs etc
- Operation of top dressers, aerifiers, spreaders, tractors and other such powered equipment
- General maintenance of greens, tees, bunkers and fairways, including hole changing, bunker raking and divot filling etc
Job Type:
Part-time (20 hours) or full-time (40 hours) contract available
Pay:
From £16.00 to £20.00 pay is negotiable depending on relevant experience and qualifications
