Job description:


Role
We're looking for a Lead in our Business Analysis team to:

  • Lead, line manage and develop members of the team in the delivery of specialist advice in relation to Defined Benefit pension schemes, DC Master Trusts, emerging consolidation vehicles, and policy related work.
  • Be a visible role model within the team to provide support to the Head of BA on management, high risk cases and operational matters
  • Ensure effective communications and knowledge sharing between respective internal peer groups

Responsibilities

You will:

  • Be a visible and accessible role model embodying TPR values
  • Lead and line manage members of the team and take responsibility for their engagement, performance, learning and development
  • Manage team resources, effective work prioritisation and team working
  • Be the main point of contact for workload issues; escalate matters when identified for further discussion and decisionmaking with Head of BA
  • Work on the development of internal risk bar models with actuarial, investment and legal colleagues
  • Work with the Head of BA to ensure that thought sharing takes place across the wider team and that professional requirements are met and are continually reviewed to remain fit for purpose
  • Support the Head of BA with the budgeting process and objective setting
  • Provide financial expertise to ensure the successful outcome of cases in line with our statutory and corporate objectives and priorities
  • Develop and influence appropriate scheme funding plans for highrisk schemes
  • Lead on providing training and education to supervisors, policy team and nonfinancial advisors on broader pension issues with effective delegation to business analysis team members
  • Provide specific, technical analysis and recommendations to case team clients to assist their decision making
  • Feedback successful and useful interventions and approaches to the team
  • Assist the Head of BA in overseeing strategic and operational advice to case teams, Policy, and other operational areas
  • Represent the team at all relevant management meetings and panels, as well as providing cover for the Head of BA
  • Mentor team members and provide oversight and peer review of significant authorisation and supervision advice in conjunction with the Head of BA
  • Share knowledge of case issues, best practice, and successful interventions with Head of BA and the team
Provide support and insight to the Head of Business Analysis in relation to:

  • strategic and complex business issues and risks that will impact on TPRs abilities to meet all regulatory objectives now and in the future
- strategic solutions to these issues
- being a credible representative for TPR at external events


Person specification:


Essential and desirable criteria

  • Qualified accountant, bank restructuring professional or qualified by experience
  • Pensions environment strategic trends and issues
  • Knowledge of TPR's clearance process
  • Experienced in financial analysis & investigative techniques especially regarding fair treatment of schemes and issues arising from possible material detriment
  • Industry sectors knowledge and experience / commercial awareness
  • Project / programme management principles and t
