RThe Faculty of Health, Education and Life Sciences is a large and diverse place to work, based at our Edgbaston City South Campus and we currently have an exciting opportunity to recruit a Course Administrator within the School of Nursing & Midwifery.


The Course Administrator role is ideal for someone who wants to positively contribute to the student experience at Birmingham City University and who is seeking a career in the exciting world of administration in Higher Education.

Course Administrators are responsible for managing a portfolio of courses and modules (postgraduate and undergraduate) including delivering Examination Boards, maintaining student records, Committee clerking and providing expert advice and support to students and colleagues across the student lifecycle.

Providing expert advice and support to their School is key to the effectiveness of this role.

Through effective organisation and management of your course portfolio, the Course Administrator will:

  • Provide excellent service to students and colleagues in support of the delivery of programmes of study.
  • Organise and administer key aspects of student administration, including but not limited to: enrolment, attendance monitoring, change of circumstance, module selection, coursework submission, personal support arrangements and general enquiry handling.
  • Maintain accurate student records, utilising a range of systems including SITS.


You will be educated to degree level (or equivalent experience) coupled with proven administrative, IT and customer service experience within a complex environment.

You'll need to have excellent IT skills (Word, Excel and PowerPoint).
