Team/Function Overview:

ICG Technology (ICGT) Risk and Controls Team play a critical role for the Head of ICG Technology and his management team to ensure there is well controlled, proactive risk environment for ICGT.

The ICGT Risk and Control Team sits within the First Line of Defense, and is made up of a Central Team, Sector Teams and leverages support from the Enterprise Risk and Control team.

Collectively the three teams work closely with partners in the second and third lines of defense.

Risk Monitoring Assessment, Analysis & Remediation

Oversight of the ICGT Risk Monitoring and risk mitigation programs for the organisation's top, materials, growing and emerging risks
Operational Risk Events (such as losses, system outages): Analysis and own the procedure, provide guidance, and govern ICG Technology's management of Operational Risk Events to ensure the capture and reporting of events meets policy requirements for completeness, accuracy, and timeliness, and assist and/or perform quarterly attestations
Partner with Second Line of Defense to provide input in working groups and proposed policy changes and perform impact assessment of changes
Oversee and/or perform analysis and thematic reviews to determine trends and drivers for Operational Risk Events as they relate back to the control framework, lead working groups to formulate recommendations, and ensure/track actions to address top themes
Delivery of timely and effective senior management reporting to ensure awareness of current risks, program progress and key events including advising on opportunities to reduce highest risk/impact Operational Risk Events
Proactively assess newly identified risks based on Key Risk indicators, Operational Risk Events and other BECIEF drivers and analyse large data sets to detect key themes and risks to support R&C activities and drive key initiatives
Develop and facilitate a forum for lessons learned readacross opportunities informing product, business, segment, and country/region
Evaluate control issues to ensure adequacy of Event Root Cause Analysis and corrective action plans
Work with Technology Heads and First, Second, and Thirdline functions in the implementation, monitoring, and reporting of risk remediation programs and processes and to establish and/or improve engagement and interaction models
Identify highest impact efficiency opportunities and use LEAN framework to reengineer processes
Develop and facilitate forums and channels for sharing the output from various R&C risk identification and remediation programs across R&C areas and ICGT groups
Establish and maintain central repository for procedures and guidelines using standard templates

Governance & Oversight

Develop deep understanding of Citi's Operational Risk Management (ORM) policies and framework
Ensure ICG Technology R&C teams deliver on all requirements under ORM's policies and standards
Provide guidance to first line partners on ORM requirements
Represent ICG Technology R&C at senior partner and governance forums
Escalate operational risk events as appropriate
Develop strong relationships with inbusiness First, Second, and Third Line stakeholders

Project Management

Manage a portfolio of projects (small and large) related to implementing and/or improving elements of the risk management programs across ICGT lines of business and regions
Ensure key risks are identified, and issues are mitigated and resolved
Ensure all senior stakeholders are kept up to date on project deliverables and scope
