£22,000 Per annum + benefits

The College Services team play a vital role covering all aspects of the student life-cycle, from registration, to course completion.

The team provides support across a range of areas, including academic and quality assurance, student progression, compliance, student wellbeing and administration.


As a College Services Advisor, you will be responsible for supporting the day-to-day functions of the team to ensure the effective and efficient administration of all processes and procedures.

This role will initially focus on academic administration, such as timetabling and attendance monitoring.


As a College Services Advisor you will:

  • Provide excellent customer service in a student facing environment.
  • Deal with student enquiries by providing a flexible, personalised and inclusive approach.
  • Maintain accurate information on the student management system.
  • Support prearrival, arrivals, registration and welcome events.
  • Assist in the maintenance and development of studentfacing content.
  • Support the development and delivery of extracurricular activities.
  • Provide administrative support.
  • Support students in relation to wellbeing and safeguarding.
  • Assist compliance with regulatory frameworks.
  • Have a flexible approach to work, for example, some out of hour's work may be required at busy periods.
  • Work with the College team to continuously improve the student experience.
  • Any other duties as required by the College Management Team.
  • Ability to deliver excellent customer service skills.
  • High level/good of verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong interest in working in education and in particular international students.
  • Confident with IT, in particular Microsoft Excel.
  • Excellent organisational skills and the ability to manage time effectively.
  • Willingness to work flexibly.
  • Experience of working as part of a team to achieve goals.
  • Attention to detail.
  • Ability to take initiative.

At the University of Essex International College, we're looking to appoint a College Services Administrator to join our successful team and support international students preparing to study undergraduate and postgraduate programmes at the University of Essex.

At the heart of our educational approach is a belief in helping students become independent, motivated learners who will thrive in higher education.

The College Services Administrator provides a vital role in supporting the administrative services provided to students and staff.

Joining a team of four College Services Administrators, your responsibilities will include:


  • Assisting with daytoday customer enquiries at the College Services reception desk
  • Assisting with the organisation and running of the college induction programme for new students
  • Conducting onetoone support tutorials with students and liaising with academic staff as appropriate
  • Assisting with events, accommodation, financial or welfare administration as required
  • Updating data management systems
  • Assisting with the development of the College social programme
  • Supporting with all studentbased services and Progression teams as required


In addition to the above areas, each of our College Services Administrators will have areas of specialisation based on their skill set.


  • Strong interest and experience in working with international students
  • A proven track record of solid customer service skills and teamwork
  • An ability to work in a busy environment and a flexible approach to work
  • Excellent Excel and IT skills, including analysing data
  • Good attention to detail and experience in handling sensitive information
  • Experience of working in UK education, EFL or the international student sector is desirable
