Arriva UK Bus are excited to be looking for a Network Scheduler to join the team on a full time, permanent basis in Wakefield.
This role has a starting salary of £26,910 during the initial 6-month probationary period, rising to £33,417.56 following successful competition of probationary period.
The Network Scheduler will ensure timely and accurate production of driver duties and rosters; Maximise the efficiency of our vehicles and driver hours using the scheduling system; Supporting the Network Manager through the network change process; Supporting other operational and financial business activities, by supplying relevant schedules and other data in an accurate and timely manner.
Main responsibilities
- Use all relevant systems to ensure schedules and duty information is efficiently and accurately captured to;
- Assist the Network Manager when required to accurately create timetables and bus running boards
- Ensure scheduling systems capture all supplementary data and accurate in line with UK Bus agreed processes
- Ensure full data integrity of all schedules and duty information to enable accurate outputs for other systems and reporting
- Produce accurate and timely exports incl; TransXChange, Hours & miles statistics; Mileage system; Ticket Machine; duty allocation system
- Ensure that data is uploaded to other systems including mileage, and duty allocation according to an agreed process
- Compile and produce efficient and effective driver duties and rosters;
- Organise and distribute all documentation relevant to duties and rosters
- Provide clear and unambiguous written and verbal communications on all duty and roster changes to depot teams and Trade Union representatives.
- Report on schedule efficiencies, articulating any variations, and ensuring changes implemented are actively monitored
- Ensure schedules and duties comply with Domestic & EU regulations and remain within both local and national agreements
- Ensure timely, accurate and efficient implementation of schedule changes;
- Assist Network Manager in process of evaluating driver cost impact of network changes including tenders and contracts
- Assist the Network Manager with the preparation of timetables and other documentation required for the network change process
- Assist in the planning and updating of existing routes and timetables including adhoc temporary changes (eg roadworks, rail replacement, events)
- Critically evaluate schedules and timetables provided to provide recommendations to further improve profitability and punctuality of routes and depots
- Supporting the Schedules Optimisation Lead to continuously improve on schedule efficiencies, by providing scenario planning and proactively recommending areas of improvement
- Undertake continual development, under the steer of Schedules Optimisation Lead and UK Bus Scheduling team, of personal knowledge, skills and capability, building an indepth understanding of our scheduling systems and route networks
