We currently have an opportunity for a
-
Business Administrator to provide administrative support to our growing Ecology and Biodiversity team. SLR's office in Shrewsbury is well-established and truly multi-disciplinary; with senior staff from within the ecology, landscape, land quality and development planning disciplines.

  • Whilst this role would be based in the Shrewsbury office, you will be supporting a team of over 80 ecologists based throughout the UK, and other environmental consultants, working alongside the Service Line Administrator and Technical Discipline Management Team.

Working as part of a wider team of administrative professionals across the company, you will have the opportunity to undertake a wide range of administrative duties to support the technical staff.

Part of the role will involve PA-type support to senior office staff.

  • You will also be responsible for:
  • Supporting technical staff through co-ordination of contact and reporting with other SLR shared services such as Accounts, HR and Marketing
  • Preparing reports, presentations, memorandums, proposals and correspondence, as well as formatting, scanning, copying, proof reading and issue of reports and other documents
  • Assisting staff in maintaining files and databases along with filing and archiving/retrieving project documents
  • Tracking equipment use and servicing etc.
  • Assisting with general project administration and management, including preparing bids, assisting with project management and invoicing
  • Assisting with other administrative duties, as required

About you
We are looking for someone with prior administrative or secretarial support experience.

  • With responsibility for managing the external issue of reports, it is essential you have a
    keen eye for detail and understand of the importance of accuracy in maintaining our professional reputation.
  • You will be
    highly organised. The role will require you to support multiple members of staff in different locations and you will need to juggle a varied workload and competing demands on your time.
  • You will have
    strong communication skills, both written and verbal, allowing you to be a positive and professional representative of SLR when interacting with clients.
  • You will be
    collaborative and supportive when working within your immediate team and across the business.
  • You will have
    practical experience of using the full MS Office suite, ideally to prepare reports, proposals and presentations.
