The direct access coordinator will be responsible for the management of The Direct access waiting lists, and appointments bookings for Cardiology Diagnostics.
The Direct access Coordinator is responsible for ensuring accurate, timely and consistent data entry and delivery of all direct access diagnostic bookings within Cardiology cross site.
The post holder will have an in depth knowledge of all specialty specific intricacies and have a specialist understanding of all booking rules and clinical pathways for the specialties within their remit.
The OAC Coordinator is responsible for managing all aspects of the Direct access waiting list including validation, booking first outpatient appointments, managing e-RS work lists and generally ensuring that a first class service is provided to all patients.
The post holder will develop close working relationships with clinical colleagues within the services and will ensure good communication is maintained with all stakeholders.
They will support other members of the Cardiology Investigations team and wider Elective Access Team to promote good practice, and to support in the delivery of an excellent clinical admin support service.
To support implementation of plans and identification of resource requirements in assigned service areas, and to support implementation of the Elective Access Policy specifically in relation to outpatient waiting times and demand and capacity.
To contribute to Cardiology processes and standard operating procedures (SOPs), development consistent with the data quality strategy, Trust systems, national requirements, workflows and operational practices.
To promote best practice, information governance and confidentiality within the Trust and to participate in audits to ensure compliance with Trust, NHS and international standards where appropriate.
To deliver high quality clinical admin support to clinical and operational colleagues
To understand the workings of and how to manage the direct access waiting lists and associated reports.

To provide advice and support in specific areas to others in relation to interpretation, adoption and operation of elective access standard operating procedures and elective access policy.
To provide expertise in using patient and clinical systems, and to promote the use of standardised patient data capture mechanisms including templates, guidelines and protocols.
To have an in-depth technical understanding of how the e-RS system works and how to manage work lists within it.

To manage appointment Slot Issues via ERS
To manage missing referrals via ERS
To manage referral for review via ERS.
