Are you a Veterinary Care Assistant looking for a new full time permanent job within a supportive and well equipped training practice and the opportunity for future progression to train as a Veterinary Nurse?


We are recruiting on behalf of our clients 1st opinion Veterinary Practice situated in Bicester, Oxfordshire who are looking for a VCA/ Animal Nursing Assistant to join their team on a full time permanent basis.

Full time, 8am-4pm, 10am-6pm and 2pm -10pm shifts on a rota basis:


  • 1 in 3 Saturdays, 8am-2pm:
-
No OOHs (please note the latest shift finishes at 10pm)
Working closely with the Veterinary Surgeons, RVN's, Student Vet Nurses, other Veterinary Care Assistants and front of house team.

Your role as VCA will involve:

  • Maintaining cleanliness standards including infection control
  • Cleaning, packing and preparing surgical equipment for use
  • Setting up the operating theatre and opening sterile equipment for laparoscopic and orthopaedic surgeries
  • Assisting vets and nurses with animal handling and restraint
  • Running samples in the inhouse laboratory
  • Assisting with stock control and rotation
  • Supervising work experience students

You must be passionate about caring for animals within the veterinary environment and want to progress into veterinary nursing within the future.

Minimum requirements:


  • Animal handling experience within a work environment/ role, ideally experience working within a Veterinary Practice as a Veterinary Care Assistant
  • Eligible to work in the UK
