College of Medicine and Veterinary Medicine / Institute of Genetics and Cancer / Centre for Genomic and Experimental Medicine

Full time, 35 hours per week.

Fixed Term - 2 years beginning in August or September 2023

We are looking for a Research Assistant to work within the laboratory of Professor Tim Aitman in the Centre for Genomic and Experimental Medicine at the University of Edinburgh.

The Opportunity:

The successful applicant would work within the Genome Medicine Group, which is using state-of-the-art genome technology to develop new methods for analysis of cell-free DNA for diagnosis and stratification of cancer.

Your skills and attributes for success:

You are a highly motivated individual
You have good wet lab experience in molecular genetics or molecular biology.
You have expertise in next generation sequencing and an interest in the analysis of genome data.
E xcellent communication skills, with experience of oral presentations and writing scientific documents.
A good BSc in Molecular Genetics, Molecular Biology, or a closely related field.
