Role Purpose


The Global Safety, Security and Resilience department is responsible for identifying, mitigating, and responding to threats and security issues relevant to Open Society's people, assets operations and programmatic work.

Working across all departments, the team supports the strategic and operational delivery of a range of safety, security resiliency services to create an inclusive, enabling, and empowering culture of security risk management.

Key Responsibilities

As the Safety and Security Coordinator at Open Society, you will:

  • Provide day-to-day administrative assistance to the Global Director including, but not limited to, scheduling meetings, managing calendars, and coordinating travel plans and manging expenses
  • Perform contractual and finance related tasks including budget tracking, invoicing, and vendor contracts
  • Manage and support the administration, logistics and delivery of all safety and security related trainings
  • Assist with preparing, drafting, editing, formatting and/or distributing materials such as security guidance, policies & procedures, alerts, announcements, reports on security activities
  • Support crisis management team
  • Regularly monitor travel tracking systems to ensure proper functioning and compliance
  • Support the development of related templates, plans, processes, assessments, and audits across the global teams' services
  • Maintain the internal incident tracking and database
  • Manage the team's internal knowledge systems
  • Support and manage specific projects related to the safety, security and resilience function of the organization as required

Qualifications:


Essential:

  • A level of education that when combined with your professional experience will adequately show you have the capability to perform the key responsibilities and contribute to organizational success
  • Strong interest in global safety, security, and resilience

Desirable:

  • Recognised qualification in safety, security, or resiliency
Experience


Essential:

  • Notable experience in a relevant area of safety, security and/or resiliency
  • Demonstrable experience of working across time zones
  • Prior administrative experience

Desirable:

  • Working within a humanitarian, development, or rightsbased organization.
  • Experience in living / working in multiple countries
