Lead Tutor/Advanced Practitioner (SFL & Learner Support):

This is a full time, term time only teaching post (41 weeks per year). The salary is LICAP points 15-20 £39,316 to £45,472 plus London Weighting £3330 (pro rata, 41 weeks)

We are looking for an experienced Skills for Life Lead Tutor/Advanced Practitioner to join our innovative and dynamic team.

You will teach on a range of accredited and non-accredited programmes with learners working towards qualifications as well as bespoke, RARPAP assessed programmes and learner support workshops.


As the Lead Tutor/Advanced Practitioner for Learner Support, you will provide specialist support to learners undertaking Skills for Life courses.

You will give advice and deliver training to the Idea Store Learning teaching team to help them accommodate a wide range of learning needs in their classrooms.

Key Responsibilities

You will:
- provide high quality, specialist teaching, learning and support for learners and teachers in the Post-19 education sector for Tower Hamlets;
- identify and support learners with a wide range of additional learning needs to ensure they can progress and achieve on their programmes of learning;
- work closely with the MIS team to ensure that learner support records are kept up to date and in line with funding requirements;
- liaise with teachers, curriculum managers and awarding bodies to ensure that learners can access the support required to complete their qualifications.


Requirements:


  • Extensive professional experience of teaching adult learners, including demonstrable experience of identifying, accommodating and supporting a wide range of individual learner needs.
  • Experience of supporting individuals to improve their teaching through a range of coaching, mentoring and training techniques.
  • This post requires an enhanced DBS and the ability to work flexibly across learning sites and community venues as required.
